Mark Zuckerberg named Time’s Person of the Year

Zuckerberg, according to Time, was chosen “for connecting more than half a billion people and mapping the social relations among them; for creating a new system of exchanging information; and for changing how we all live our lives.”

The 26-year-old genius becomes the youngest person to receive the honor since Charles Lindbergh who, at 25, was the first Person of the Year ever chosen by Time.

Hollywoodnews.com: Could this be another vote of confidence for David Fincher’s “The Social Network?”

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who was thrust into the national spotlight this year when Jesse Eisenberg portrayed him in Fincher’s money-making “Network,” has been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. Now, it probably has more to do with Zuckerberg’s charitable efforts than with Fincher’s movie, but we’re a movie site, and if we don’t report on “Social Network” at least three times a day, we’ll wither up and die.

Kidding, of course.
